The Liverpool Collection
LIVERPOOL is one of the truly great names in football, the Reds’ history studded with great players, great matches, great events. This book is a photographic celebration of the Anfield club's success.
Formed in March 1892 by disaffected members of none other than Everton, two years later the club set the standard for future generations by storming to the Second Division title.
Before World War One, Liverpool had twice been crowned champions of English football, a feat they repeated in consecutive seasons in the 1920s, then another in the 40's and twice more in the 60's under Shankley.
Now Liverpool were on the brink of a staggering run of successes including 11 League championships up to 1990 – and so it went on: thrice European champions, five FA Cup Final victories to 1992 and two UEFA Cup Final wins.
The Liverpool Collection covers all these great eras, with around 200 fascinating photographs of the players and the matches which will be a wonderful record of the greatest days in the history of this great club.
